Short story, I got a Hatsune Miku PS Vita last month (yaay)

Long story then, because oh boy this was a interesting one.

From the start, the seller was from japan and sold this one for rougly €166 with free shipping, the description said it has minor scratches, scratch in the corner of the screen and on top of the unit, no idea where those scratches one the back and the screen are but except few on/near the cartridge slot and near the charging port there are no scratches at all.

What the seller didn't say was that both analogs are worn out (they did work, but their "feel" was wonky) and the fact that the previous owner was a heavy smoker, and I mean really heavy because I had to fully clean the Vita 4 TIMES to get rid of the dirt on the outside, but mostly inside the Vita there was some yellowness I had to remove, above that I took everything apart and put it on the closet for almost a month to get rid of the smell (it's gone for 95%).

every inch had to be cleaned, this is how it looked after 4 times of cleaning

Everything worked fine, no issues at all and no scratches (aside from the top) but the smell was unbearable plus every game I put in that Vita before cleaning smelled like smoke.

Aside from that I replaced the analogs and the upper side with the "mystery port" and cartridge slot, that's all aside from a lot of cleaning.

RIP to all 200+ cotton buds I wasted for this

In the end was it worth it? Aside from all the cleaning and time I had wasted then it definitely was worth it, including the fees (without asking the seller put lower value on the package) and the few replacement parts I had to buy it was just under €200 total, in the end compared to how expensive most of these are (the Miku one) it's not a bad deal I guess, especially because aside from the analogs and the smell it's in great shape.

The reason I choose for black analogs was because they were way cheaper than the white ones, plus I do like the contrast they create :)

Royal Mail held the parcel on Wednesday but I never get the card.. so I visited the post office today had two customs charges I hadn't received cards for to pay I think it must have been around £13-15 for this one, i think Royal Mail take about £8 of that for themselves....

Got two Vita games this week - Patobox arrived yesterday, and the CE on Spelunky arrived today. Both are really nice (especially Spelunky). Not too many more Vita games to arrive now - KOF 97 and Shakedown Hawaii. Just waiting for a release date on Super Meatboy and I'm pretty much done with the system purchase wise.

These all arrived last week. A bit disappointed that the top flap on my NLS box is damaged. Didn't happen in shipping either as no damage at all t othe shipping box, and this is more like a wrinkle caused by some manner of manufacturing or assembly type problem. Pardon the picture quality, I was experimenting with apereture settings and trying to not use the flash.

My special shock box edition of KOF 97 arrived, looks like Shakedown Hawaii should be with me today as well. KOF is definitely the best game I've purchased in ages, looks wonderful. But a tiny complaint with the shock box design - its designed like old Neo Geo boxes (pre 95?) as by the time 97 was released they were using even sturdier snaplock style cases.

Not much going on Vita wise, my focus shifted to other stuff but these 3 games were on my to get list.

I already have the english Senran for ages, but wanted the japanese one for ad-hoc multiplayer (there are no online trophies so I got it for fun, especially because it was cheap)

Out of curiosity, those who buy Japanese vita games: do you play them?

    As for me:

    Downloads:
    Vasara Collection
    Suikoden 1 & 2

    Physical:
    @Field
    Phantasy Star Nova

Well, technically, I also bought Persona 4, Metal Max Xeno and Chaos Rings 3, but I returned them as well as held off buying several other Vita games as, simply put, I don't have the time to play them.

Vasara is a damn fun game! Possibly the best shmup I've played for the vita, alongside Luftrausers. @field is also a fun little game to play in short bursts, and will play the odd game of it whilst I wait for it to sell. Phantasy Star Nova and Suikoden 1 & 2 are games I'm sure I'll get round to playing eventually...
