Stealth release for the win!
It's 20 Euros, or 16GBP by the way - if you're not in Australia.
Not compadible with ps-tv? What the hell.... I really wanted this game too. What is their problem? Considering its also on ps3... I guess ill have to settle for the pc version after all this time of holding out.
Been monitoring YouTube for uploads;
Although it's a rather crappy video, the gameplay looks like it's maintaining a solid frame rate!
Looks to run quite smoothly, I'll be grabbing this tomorrow night so will post impressions once I've played it.
Looks like running quite stable to me. Day one whenever it hits PSN here.
Just got home, I'll have it in 2 hours thanks to my fantastic aussie internet.
Wow, I was expecting an announcement at least but they are just throwing it up on the store with 0 fanfare? They can't have high hopes for it if their marketing consists of "deny all knowledge that the game exists!". I might hold of to see if it gets a physical release in Asia like Civ, but it looks great so far and is exactly the kind of game I want on my Vita.
Wasn't there a Play Asia preorder page sometime ago? Can't seem to find it now.
I'm hearing a lot of "Yo Sony! Why no advertising of this?". Take a look at the screenshot in the original post, it's a 2K game. If they want to send it to die then it's on them.
This is so strange, a good game like this released in a stealth form, can we wait for bioshock vita now?
Here's some screenshots I took of the tutorial.
It maintains what looks like a fairly stable 20-30fps with the occasional drop during action scenes.
FMVs are all very well compressed with no artifacting.
Thanks for the screens! How about load times?
I was bracing myself for them to be really long, but I was surprised to see they were very quick.
I did a bit of timing
From tapping the icon to the "press start" screen (if you skip the movie ASAP): 30 seconds
From pressing continue to getting to the base overview: 40 seconds
From "begin assault" to mission commence: 45 seconds
Upgrade menus stutter for fractions of seconds as they load as you dig down through them and the loadout of your soldiers change.
This actually looks REALLY good!
Only thing I'm sceptical of is duration/longevity. I hate wasting £15 on a game that lasts 5hours.
And anyone know about the trophies? Is there a platinum? Online trophies?
Howlongtobeat quotes a 30-hour completion time for the original PC version and this version is expanded, and the trophies are here (it does have a plat).
I don't remember that ever happening. The game came out on JP/Asia PSN last night too, so the likelihood of them getting a physical release is low.
Wow, this is just sounding better and better!
No online trophies by the look of it, and most of them sound fun/interesting.
It does seem odd that 2K would release the game without even announcing it first. Perhaps there was some kind of screw up and Sony accidentally released it early. I am going on vacation soon so I will wait until I get back to download.
I can confirm that this port also contains Enemy Within content, which should expand the game even further than 30 hours!
Still waiting for the NA Store to get it hopefully.
Looking forward to getting the game as well. I don't think the release is an accident though, since the game is being released across all regions.
At first I thought that Sony's silence and lack of marketing (not even a blog post) was due to lack of quality in the port. But all seems to indicate that the port is quite good. The only things that come to mind is that Sony either doesn't even care or that it wants all the attention on PSVR, which is definitely the more important news for them.
Ah, must've imagined it!
