Thanks to a tip from an inside-source, it has become known to TVL that God of War Collection for PlayStation Vita is now available for pre-order on Best Buy Canada’s website.

The listing places the pre-order arrival date as December 31, 2014. It should be noted however that despite the schedule matching the standard Canadian release date, it may simply be a placeholder as the box art has yet to be uploaded.

Here is how the listing details the collection:

The cult-classic games God of War 1 and 2 in HD feature character Kratos in a combat and puzzle game. Control Kratos as he navigates the terrain, climbs walls, leaps dangerous crevasses, swings on ropes, and balances across beams. You must also find coloured chests containing orbs that will replenish your health, magic, weapons, and more.

While this is not the first pre-order to pop up, the release God of War Collection for PlayStation Vita has become a hot recently despite a lack of direct information from Sony themselves. The timing is also interesting, especially since just yesterday a rating emerged for the collection from the ESRB.

At the very least, these pre-order popups should give some good news to the few people around that think it will be digital-only.

Looking forward to the release. It’s been years since I’ve played the first two God of War titles.

The release on PS3 is preferable in my opinion than a hand held but that’s just personal taste

It’s full price! Why? It should be a bit cheaper, in my opinion, but hey, what can you do?

Sony is kinda pushing the $40 price point on this.. why is it that you can buy the entire jak and daxter collection for $30, but this is $40 for only two games?

Don’t get me wrong, I understand that the quality of games is different, but the principal is the same. I’m sure this will be one of those games that will be available cheaper soon after launch, but its kinda like sony is screwing us vita owners. And then they wonder why Vita sales are so low.

I love the Vita, but when I try to get others to buy it and then have to tell them what the games cost, most of them balk at the price and state something along the lines of, “well, I can buy GTA III on my phone for like $6.

Some might not agree, but I think it’s time sony made more games for the Vita and really starts changing their prices and the prices of the Vita’s memory.

What about pre-order in the US? GameStop and Amazon both have it available … what is Best Buy waiting for?
