Indie Horror Game Kodoku Ditches Weapons in Favour of Stealth

4

The indie developer Carnivore Studio is reportedly in the midst of creating a brand-new horror title for the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4.

According to a preview from PocketGamer the upcoming project goes by the name of Kodoku, and will be completely devoid of weapons. Instead players will have to rely on sorcery and stealth to succeed, a notion that is sure to be refreshing to fans of the horror genre.

You will reportedly take the role as a “collector” who must travel to the haunted island of Kodoku to obtain a rare book. During your adventure on the island you will come to experience paranormal phenomena and entities from Japanese folklore. There will come a point in which you discover the source of the haunting, and as you attempt to make your escape off the island you must first gather documents and evidence to prove your findings true upon return.

As mentioned earlier, stealth takes center stage in Kodoku and as such players will have the ability to focus their senses to detect the direction and proximity of threats. Being able to tap into your senses help aid your in puzzle solving, as well as the simple crafting of spells.

Kodoku is still quite early on in its development, and will reportedly be releasing some time in early 2015.
