New To Love-Ru Title Has You Fight Monsters and Maidens

1

In To Love-Ru Trouble Darkness: Battle Ecstasy you’ll be fighting all kinds of foes, from beast to beauty.

The official website for the game details an action-infused plot where you’ll be playing as the protagonist, a joe-six-pack named Rito who often finds himself in “unexpected situations”

While exploring dungeons, there will be a bunch of monsters to fight, including some that appeared in the anime. Rito uses so called Lucky Items to fight enemies, of which each seems to have their own unique fighting style. You can use these items to pull off combos, in turn filling up your attack meter and allowing you to pull off special moves.

The items consist of close and long-ranged weapons that can be switched to go with the type of monsters you’re fighting. The items you can find range from the normal to the absurd, ranging from Octopus Knuckles, to plungers and frying pans. There’s also a “Lucky Pervert” meter called TTT (trouble touch time) which will also provide a bonus of sorts.

Check out the not-so-safe-for-work trailer;

You clearly won’t be fighting just monsters, as various heroines will also be looking for a fight. Certain weapons will work only against heroines, while others are used only against monsters – the importance of having the right tool for the right job becoming quickly apparent.

Special challenge missions can also be found while traversing the dungeons, giving you a set type of objective, such as “defeat all enemies within X amount of time”. All kinds of different items can be acquired through the completion off these missions, and some of them can even be used to enhance the female portion of the title (wink wink).

To Love-Ru Trouble Darkness: Battle Ecstasy is slated to release May 22nd in Japan, with no word on localization.

    What’s the big deal, its the same trailer we’ve seen before except spliced with different footage from various commercials. While this would be a nice title to get localized the reality is well never see it in the west, as it is already were pushing our luck with Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus. North America never saw the release of the Manga and I’m not aware of any western country that got the DS or the PSP games in their territories. It’s really sad as this is a franchise with lots of great comedic moments.
