Proteus to hit the PSN next week

Indie title Proteus from Curve Studios is coming to your favourite portable in just a few days, are you excited?

According to our good friends over at Punk&LizardProteus will be hitting the PSN in North America and Europe next week – with an Asian release dropping in a couple updates from now. Curve Studios’ newest addition will also be a cross buy title, hitting the PS3 and Vita simultaneously for one price.

Here’s what P&L had to say about the title;

Proteus is a game about exploration and immersion in a dream-like island world where the soundtrack to your play is created by your surroundings. Played in first-person, the primary means of interaction is simply your presence in the world and how you observe it. The procedurally generated islands are home to creatures natural and imagined, tranquil valleys and ruins with magical properties.

The PlayStation version of Proteus comes with additional features not found in the PC version, including taking advantage of the Vita’s portability to allow users to generate the games island worlds based on their location in the real world. Players will also be able to effect the environment directly for the first time in the game, giving new depth and immersion into the dreamlike worlds they can explore in game.

Looking forward to playing this? So are we – and there should be some more information coming closer to release as well.

Stay tuned, Vita-lovers.

    What is the price?

      I haven’t heard anything regarding price – but if their previous titles are an indication then $10 – $13 US.

        It’s $10 on PC, and I would have thought that’s their plan for this. As soon as we get confirmation we will let you know. :D

        Thanks!

    So, all you do is explore an island that’s randomly generated? That sounds boring as a game, but interesting as an experiment. I don’t know if I’m game enough to buy in, though.

      When it released on PC it gained some rave reviews. As an experience many found it quite refreshing.
